Maurice Béjart chooses Blanca del Rey as the guest star in his new show Carte Blanche

Last 15 th of May the Theater Carlo Felice of Genoa hosted Carte Blanche, the latest show directed by Maurice Béjart, included in the XXXIII International Festival of Dance.
In his last stay in Spain, Béjart watched a performance by Blanca del Rey and soon he decided to offer her
a role as guest star in Carte Blanche.After collaborating with artists such as Mikhail Barishnikov and Maia Plissetskaia, Maurice Béjart decided to take a break in his tour Le Presbitère in order to present his new show Carte Blanche together with Blanca del Rey.
New Production: Flamenco a Bocajarro
Flamenco a Bocajarro is the new production of Ballet Flamenco Blanca del Rey, formed on this occasion by a select cast of eighteen artists, including Diego Llori as the guest star.
The play is composed of six different choreographies including solo acts and a pas de deux among others.
The music, written specially for this production by Felipe Maya and Leo de Aurora, is performed live.

An elegant bata de cola blanca, an arragement of abanicos españoles and a majestic mantón are three elements missing from the stages of today, but Blanca manages to incorporate them in her choreographies.
Blanca del Rey: National Flamenco Award
Blanca del Rey has recently been awarded with the most prestigious prize given to flamenco art in Spain: the National Flamenco Award. In previous editions the price has gone to artists such as Paco de Lucía, Camarón and Antonio.

Last 7th of May the Royal Theatre of Madrid hosted a special performance with the most brilliant artists of the present flamenco panorama.
Blanca del Rey delighted the audience with her outstanding Soleá del Mantón, receiving the greatest ovation of the whole evening. Thus, the Gala Flamenca was complete sucess.

National and international tours

The national tour of Flamenco a Bocajarro has started with the performances at the theatres Villamarta (Jerez de la
Frontera), Roma (Murcia), Gayarre (Pamplona) and Bretón de los Herreros (Logroño) with great success. Ballet Flamenco Blanca del Rey will go on with this national tour for the rest of the season, with international tours in between.

The latest performance given by Ballet Flamenco Blanca del Rey has been, so far, the one that took place in the Cuevas de Nerja Festival with artists such as tenor Josep Carreras.
